lúcia marques is a contemporary art independent curator. Born in Lisbon (1974), where she lives and works, she graduated in Art History and is presently finishing her MA on Curatorial Studies at the Faculty of Visual Arts (University of Lisboa/Gulbenkian Foundation) about the impact of migratory flows on visual arts. She has regularly published her texts in newspapers, magazines and catalogues, and, in 2001-2006, was part of the team of the Institute of Arts of the Portuguese Ministry of Culture. Her teaching experience has been focused on photography’s history and in contemporary curatorial practices. She was the curator of the visual arts programme in Brussels for the Portuguese Presidency of the EU (July-December 2007) and is currently preparing an international tour of “between departures and arrivals” project for the cultural centres of Camões Institute in S. Tomé (S. Tomé e Príncipe), Maputo (Mozambique), Brasília (Brazil), Luanda (Angola) and Praia (Cape Vert).

paula roush (b. Lisbon 1971) is a London-based artist, curator and lecturer. She is the founder of the art and research platform msdm, whose projects feature her interest in mobile strategies of display & mediation and the convergence of networked practices and daily life. Solo exhibitions include Soundtrack for a cctv, Voyeur Project View, Lisbon (2007), Arphield Recordings, Space, London (2006), whatarewedoingwhatshappeningtouswhatneedstobedoneiprefernotto, Elastic Residence (2005) and sos:ok, Coleman Project Space (2004). She co-curated Welcome goodbye adeus obrigada: Journeys, dislocations and imaginary nations, at the Blue Elephant Theatre (2006), Postscript: Portuguese live art in the age of scripted reality, at Space (2004) and Outsourcing: The creative collision between artist and curator, at inIVA (2002). She is lecturer and researcher on digital photography and social media at the London South Bank University and lecturer on contemporary art theory at the University of Westminster.
