Jorge Pereirinha Pires & José Pinheiro

Brava Dança (Wild Dance), 2006, by Jorge Pereirinha Pires and José Pinheiro
Portugal, ‘79. Production: A Ventura Humana.
Analysis of an artistic process: the origins of the Portuguese band “Heróis do Mar” and the band as a common project – the ideas and the ideals. The role of the artist in politics and society; the revolution and the counter-revolution; the popular music and the urgency of artistic intervention; the image that the country had (and still has) of itself. A story narrated by several voices – and different personalities. A film about two gleaners, with interviews collected in Lisbon and London; pictures and sound saved from sinking into oblivion.
